About the Role: Cloud Engineering Consultant
A technically experienced Cloud Consultant responsible for implementing, architecting, and managing infrastructure for a highly secure Cybersecurity Cloud Service Provider. Leveraging open-source, Microsoft, hybrid, and public cloud technologies, you will support escalated incidents, drive automation initiatives, manage projects, and continuously strengthen our security posture. A strong passion for self-development is essential, along with a commitment to high-quality documentation, effective troubleshooting, and collaboration within a multi-skilled team.
Cloud Engineering encompasses a spectrum of technology. It is expected that a Cloud Engineering Consultant will be considered an expert in one or more areas but will also be required to use and embrace the entire technology stack in the product portfolio when required.
A core principle of the role is curiosity and drive to push through service improvements and keep up with technological developments.
Security is the number one factor in decisions for systems and services we support. You will be at the forefront in the defense of customer and internal systems. Ensuring good system design and maintenance is in place and ensuring the principles of “Defense in Depth” are followed.
Key Responsibilities
Act as an escalation point across enterprise infrastructure, ensuring timely incident resolution, clear communication, and alignment with SLAs.
Maintain high‑quality documentation and configuration records while driving continuous improvement and contributing to a robust knowledgebase.
Uphold a security‑first approach and support personal, technical, and team development through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with problem, incident, and change management teams, taking a technical lead across customer and internal projects from initial engagement through design, implementation, and operation.
Serve as a trusted technical consultant and SME for key accounts, supporting pre‑sales through to full product lifecycle ownership and the delivery of scalable, secure solutions.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring experience in these technologies and skillsets, but will not be limited to the following:

Operating Systems: Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Microsoft
Virtualisation – VMware (NSX-T, VCF, VCD), KVM, HyperV, Proxmox, Nutanix
Public Cloud – AWS, Azure
Automation – Git, Ansible, Terraform
Scripting – Bash, Python, Powershell
Security – VPN, Loadbalancer, Firewalls
Networking – OSI, VLAN, L2/L3 config
Protocols - HTTP, DNS, SSL and HTTPS, SMTP
An understanding of server hardware including hardware and software RAID
Experienced in technical project involvement
A clear understanding of data centre operations, processes and controls
Working levels of experience in Incident and Problem Management.
