Hours of Work:
37.5 per week
Core hours 10am - 4.00pm with 1 hour for Lunch

THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Industry Leading Secure and recover arm, as the Head of Cloud Engineering, supporting the next phase of Cyberfort’s growth. You’ll be joining a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning with expert peers in Solutions Architecture, Cloud Engineering and Pre-Sales Design. As a key member of the Secure and Recover Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Cloud Engineering plays a critical role in the design, build, and delivery of market-leading IT services for both our customers and our internal teams. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO), this role works cross-functionally across the organisation to ensure we consistently deliver best-in-class technology capabilities that support our growth, innovation, and service excellence.
This role will suit a results-driven thought leader and technical evangelist with a track record of turning concepts into products and leading development with service excellence in cybersecurity and cloud services. Expert at integrating cutting-edge technologies to build secure, efficient, and high-performing infrastructures that meet Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) standards.
Our Head of Cloud Engineering Owns product life cycles across domains, driving continuous improvement with a focus on optimisation and automation. To thrive in this role will require a motivated, impact-driven professional capable of managing multiple workstreams—including team leadership, sales/marketing support, and client delivery. Through thought leadership, you'll drive innovation, eliminate bottlenecks, and develop team capabilities by removing single points of failure.
The Impact You’ll Make
In this role, you’ll be:
- Collaborating across the entire business unit to develop a product-oriented mind-set, with a focus on ensuring the right solution is delivered based upon customer needs.
- Design and deliver resilient IT services to ensure adherence to efficient SLAs and KPIs.
- Devising and establishing modern IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies from the C-suite.
- Driving discussions with senior technical experts regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation.
- Ensuring all company cloud and technology services are protected by implementing stringent controls and appropriate cyber security protections are in place, monitored, regularly tested and operational.
- Acting as the decision maker and design authority for internal systems and client managed cloud platforms including cybersecurity, service availability, resilience and disaster recovery.
- Leading the deployment of solutions in cloud technology, infrastructure, security and storage.
- Ensuring technically robust, and commercially compelling solutions to address clients real business challenges
- Supporting timely and accurate client solution designs, proposals and tender response submissions.
- Day to day management of Cloud Engineering Team. Supporting their development, knowledge base and growth.
- Leading strategic capacity planning and growth capability.
- Being the interface between other areas of the business/customers and technical teams. Juggling different priorities and aims, to make sure the client is at the forefront of our approach.
- Owning product collateral and educating the Group on development and approach.
- Being key link between technology subject matter experts and the C-suite.

Technical Competencies
- Proven experience as Senior Technology Leader, Senior Technical Expert or similar role
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Strong track record of implementing infrastructure services in a variety of distributed computing environments.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Enterprise Technologies and Virtualisation technologies
- Expert knowledge of Open Source Operating Systems, Service Provider Technologies and Virtualisation technologies
- Expert Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, products and their application
- Expert levels of experience in Incident and Problem Management.
- Strong experience of Azure and AWS Cloud and Online technologies.
- Experienced in leading technical projects and development.
- In-depth experience in hosting technologies and hybridisation
- Migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud.
- Experience managing data centre or technical operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements, including PCI-DSS, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
